On April 15, 2025, the Intellectual Property Office of Vietnam (IP Vietnam) issued Announcement No. 1269/TB-SHTT, outlining the process for receiving and processing responses in cases where applicants have missed the response deadlines due to recent technical issues.
Key Highlights:
Due to a technical malfunction, some documents related to the examination of industrial property applications issued by IP Vietnam were delivered to applicants after the official response deadline had passed. To address this situation, IP Vietnam will implement the following:
- Receipt of Responses: IP Vietnam will accept responses and process them as if they were submitted within the original deadline.
- Fee Processing: Relevant fees and charges will be collected and handled in accordance with the established regulations.
- Deadline Calculation: For these specific cases, the response deadline will be calculated from either the email sent date (for electronic documents) or the postmark date (for hard-copy documents), rather than the original document issuance date.
